selling stuff

after logging in, click "sell" at the top of the page, which takes you to your sales page. the recently purchased item will appear at the top of your "unpaid" list. you can use the drop down status indicator to change your status at any time. after changing status, an email is immediately sent to the buyer, alerting them to the change.

adding stuff

if you can't find an item you are looking to either purchase or sell, you may add it to the database. all of your contributions to the site are listed on your profile page.

after performing a search, if you can't find the item you are looking for, a link at the bottom of that page gives you the option of adding it to the database. on the "add an item" page, you are presented with the main category, followed by the secondary category. after entering the two categories, you are then asked for some information on the new item. some of the information on this page is required, such as cd title or computer manufacturer. you will not be allowed to add the item without all the required information. required information is indicated by a red exclamation point.

please be aware that having identical items on the website is really bad and there are safeguards built into this page to prevent this. if you are entering an item that already exists, you will be rerouted to that page. if for some reason you do enter a duplicate item, it will be removed. if you need to sell a nearly item but with a different color or similar situation, you can specify the color or whatever in the sales information.

if there is a possibility that an item is a duplicate, it may be flagged, in which case it will be scanned and released once it is found not to be a duplicate. you will be alerted when this happens.

broadcasts

broadcasts are special messages sent by munumu.nu alerting you to your friends' activities. if a friend buys something and they have broadcast turned on, when you visit your profile page, a new broadcast messages will tell you what they bought. if a friend of yours, who is a seller, posts a new sale, you will be alerted of that as well. the same goes for you -- if you buy something, your friends can see and if you post a sale, all your friends can see that as well.

friends

as a member, you have two options for folks making friends with you.

you may allow anyone to add you as a friend, without having to approve anyone. this option works well with sellers, who don't buy anything. this way, all the people who befriend you can receive your broadcasts and newsletters.

the other option is to require your approval for each person wanting to make friends with you. this is typically better for buyers who want a little privacy. this is certainly not required though. you can be as open as you want.

this option can be toggled in your privacy settings under "open friendships."

have fun!
