my name is donald rainwater. i am a user interface designer and developer, currently living in san francisco, trying to get back to my home in brooklyn :) i have built this website entirely by myself, without any financial backing whatsoever. it took a year living on unemployment to get it done and this is the latest(first there was klouburst.net, followed by tnjbl.com), greatest, and final version.
i've spent the better part of the last 6 months rebuilding the website in my spare time -- 7 days a week.
in my opinion, this version of the site is pretty much the best implementation of web 2.0 and eCommerce i've seen anywhere... and it's free!
if you are wondering why the website is free and what the catch is, here is the deal: since i don't have any investors demanding a return on their investment, i don't have to charge anything. all i pay for is hosting. sure, there will be a revenue model built in soon, but it will be an optional upgrade to a type of seller account that is something mega sellers would want. it will have better metrics, better integration with their inventories and stuff like that... and it will be cheap.
i've sold records, cds and dvds on a variety of sites and remember the cut they took at the end of the day. that cut is getting bigger all the time. they are pricing themselves out of existence, creating opportunities for sites like this to come in and gobble them up.
my goal with this website is to give folks a great place for them to sell their stuff, build a community, share ideas and whatnot. i'm not interested in being #1, just the best.
